Dustin Eyre
From Perth Caught these nice fish from Witticarra
Creek

gday, great morning maybe the
best ever, as notched in my gaff
(not that i use it ) 119cm for the mulloway and 76cm 6kg for the
snapper,
fished with heavy gear and a 100 pound wire trace. missed a real run
and my
mate busted off to a proper monster scorcher.caught plenty of tailor
to 2kg
(bait) a stingray (a baby 10kg) a different patterned beautiful
cobbler,
some herring ,i got smashed by the snapper but taking it easy and
using the
swells it came in ok on a big wave, then hour later all i can
remember of the
torrid 15 min fight with the mulloway is , turning to my friend JP
with the
rod bent in half, reel screaming and simply nodded, and nodding for
quite a
few minutes. Then progressing to yelling "mate the fight ,the fight"
while
waist deep in the surf trying to pull the fish away from reef ,this
seemed
to work as did telling my friend to keep away from me and i would
tell him
when needed the gaff, in hindsight may have been put a bit to
bluntly but
he understood and kept well away. a true friend. plenty of other
stories
" glad i got this one weighed as i caught a bigger one in the same
area a
few years ago that i called for 15kg. never properly weighed a
mulloway
caught in the swan on 2.7kg stren an a fillet of mulie on a
white"bait gang
etc etc - 1.5 hours and happily agreed for at least 19 kg -would not
fit
on the back seat of the land cruiser.
